我會知道Ralph Myerz就是因為這首My Darling. 現在還是我的來電答鈴呢!主要也是因為在換來電答鈴的時候無意中聽到，一聽就覺得很喜歡，馬上就換成鈴聲。隔了幾個月雖然也因為新鮮感換過幾首歌，最後還是換回這首My Darling. 歌詞也呼應了這些日子裡生活中一些這樣的感覺。

這個挪威電子團體之所以會成立，是因為靈魂人物Erlend Sellevold在1997年要找人和他在首都卑爾根(bergen)一個派對上合作，Thomas Lønnheim 和 Tarjei Strøm出現了，雙方本來就是同校過的朋友，他們也在這次活動合作中覺得很合拍，就此成立了Ralph Myerz & The Jack Herren Band. 本來他們是那次表演裡名氣最小的，但經過這次成功演出以後，當天他們受到了很熱烈的鼓勵，也因此成團。

Ralph Myerz是個使用英文的外國人也會覺得很奇怪的名字，據他們解釋靈感是來自一個在六零及七零年代的導演Russ Meyer，他的作品屬於成本低的劣質電影(B-movie)，但總是有許多大胸的女孩當做養眼鏡頭，這幾個大男生說他們喜歡電影的音效，當然，也喜歡那些大胸部。

Russ Meyer的作品 Motor Psycho(1965) 在訪問中Ralph Myerz有提到這部。

Tarjei在一次接受BBC訪問的時候說，如果要形容他們的音樂，大概就是蝙蝠俠裡面的雙面人吧。在錄音的時候他們喜歡盡量做到最好，流暢，“許多人喜歡叫它chillout，儘管我們不喜歡用這個詞形容” 他們認為現場表演的時候，他們就像rock band一樣，有兩個鼓手，製造出像煙火大會一樣的效果。
